Socioenvironmental Activities
This program is composed of awareness-raising actions in the communities in the area influenced by the Irapé Hydroelectric Plant, where environmental education activities are being carried out. Its target public includes social work professionals in the municipalities near or influenced by the project, the public in general and, most especially, local teachers and those rural proprietors directly affected by the enterprise. The campaigns conducted seek to involve the communities and form dissemination agents through courses and lectures. Audio-visual resources such as videos and presentations, as well as scale models, booklets, leaflets and other informative materials are being utilized in these activities. Traveling exhibits on the Irapé Hydroelectric Plant are to be held around the region and the planned series of monitored visits to the jobsite is to be increased. The campaign's themes have been carefully chosen so as to provide an incentive for a proactive attitude on the part of the population, seeking a raised awareness and behavioral changes in relation to the care of personal health, water resources, garbage and the protection of regional flora and fauna.
